Successful Completion of International Minor at IPA Aruba

Ten students have successfully completed the international minor Globalisation, Diversity, Multilingualism & Education (30 European Credits) at the Instituto Pedagogico Arubano (IPA). These students: Hamza Jabeur, Charlotte Helder, Jessica de Bruijn, Roos Span, Aylin Salawan Bessie, Suzan Nassar, Manon Kommer, Gertrisia Krozendijk, Bart-Jeroen van Leunen and Boaz Kommer — spent approximately five months on Aruba following an intensive academic and practical programme.

The minor combines theory, practice and applied research, with a strong focus on the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). Key themes included multilingual education, motivation, differentiation and inclusive pedagogical practice.

During the minor, students completed internships at several Aruban primary and secondary schools, including Mon Plaisir School, Filomena College, EPB Hato and San Antonio Mavo. IPA gratefully acknowledges the commitment and guidance of school principals and mentors, whose support was essential to the success of this programme.

A special thanks goes to our Aruban student Gertrisia Krozendijk, who is currently studying at Hogeschool Utrecht and returned to Aruba to participate in this minor. She completed her internship at San Antonio MAVO, the secondary school she once attended herself, making this experience particularly meaningful.

Final research presentations took place on 16 and 22 January 2026 and were highly appreciated by educators and stakeholders. All students successfully obtained their certificates. IPA is proud of the students’ professional growth and international engagement.
